1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Pikaan ("the Service"), operated by Pikaan ("we", "our", or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Pikaan is an AI-powered real-time fact-checking platform. The Service processes text and audio content, breaks it into individual claims, and verifies each claim using multiple AI language models and web sources. Results are provided for informational purposes only and should not be treated as legal, medical, or professional advice.

3. Accounts

To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete registration information.
Maintain the security of your account credentials.
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
Submit content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable.
Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
Circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or credit restrictions.
Use automated tools to access the Service without our prior written consent.

5. Credits and Billing

The Service uses a credit-based billing system:

Free accounts receive a one-time allocation of credits.
Paid plans include monthly credits that reset each billing cycle.
Credits are consumed based on text length and analysis mode selected.
Unused credits from paid plans do not roll over to the next billing period.
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Prices are in USD.

6. Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your billing dashboard. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and content, is owned by Pikaan and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of content you submit for fact-checking. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing fact-checking results.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. AI-generated fact-checking results may contain errors or inaccuracies. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any analysis results. You should independently verify important claims before relying on them.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pikaan shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.
